Research performed at Stamford University in 2011 has shown that whilst arthritis is a disease largely caused by traumatic injury or mechanical problems of wear and tear (like a piece of worn out machinery) most people in fact who think they are suffering from arthritis are suffering from a different complaint entirely - low grade inflammation.
This low grade inflammation is directly attributable to increasing levels of acidic toxins in the body which derive from an over-acidic diet.
There are three factors involved in this over-acidification, and the first is age-related.
In 1996 Doctor Lynda Frasetto of the University of California, San Francisco, published a paper, Age and systemic acid-base equilibrium: analysis of published data, showing bicarbonate levels in the blood at various ages.
The average bicarbonate level is constant until the age of 45, after which a noticeable decline begins. This is the average age when symptoms of arthritis, hypertension, osteoporosis, cancer, diabetes and etc. start to appear.
When bicarbonate in the blood decreases, the body is less and less able to neutralise acid. This non-neutralised excess acid accumulates as cholesterol, fatty acid, uric acid, kidney stones and etc. with the excess acidic toxins building up, particularly around the joints. This causes an imbalance in the acid-alkaline ratio in the human body which becomes more acidic and less able to transport oxygen around the joints.
pH the Acid-Alkaline Balance
Human blood has a pH value ranging from 7.3 to 7.45. Blood with a pH value of 7.45 contains 64.9% more excess oxygen than blood with a pH value of 7.3. The pH values of 7.3 and 7.45 seem almost the same, but there’s a big difference in the amount of excess oxygen between the two examples of blood. This means that highly oxygenated blood in the 7.45 range can circulate more readily (it’s thinner) and keep the farthest reaches of the body like fingers and toes and/or the most stressed and “worked” areas of the body like the joints, well supplied with oxygen and therefore healthy on a cellular level. However, once the pH of blood strays towards 7.3, the blood is less able to circulate and therefore doesn’t get into those areas of the body where the oxygen is most needed and this results in a build up of acidic toxins.
The Mechanism of Acidification
As acidic toxins build up in the cells around the joints, they trigger the white blood cells into action. White blood cells and other specialist cells rush to the site and release a shower of powerful free radicals (this is called an oxidative burst) that aid the destruction of invading microorganisms and damaged tissue.
Free radicals are positively charged molecules (short of one or more electrons) that search for free electrons to become stable. These free radicals usually obtain their missing electrons by stripping electrons away from damaged tissue or from pathogens. This activity breaks down damaged cells for removal and the excess free radicals produced during the immune response are neutralised by free electrons (or active antioxidants) in the body. This process is called the “inflammatory response” and symptoms of inflammation, swelling, redness, heat, pain and decrease in range of motion, are usually the result.
When inflammation becomes chronic (prolonged) a progressive shift in the type of activity going on at the site or sites of inflammation takes place. You get simultaneous destruction and healing of tissue but also a harmful free radical encroachment into the healthy surrounding tissue.
Constantly stimulated, to produce a free radical oxidative burst, by the presence of inflamed cells made toxic by the build up of excess acid, the immune system switches into overdrive sending in more white blood cells that produce more free radicals.
Instead of just stripping electrons from the damaged cells, they also now strip electrons from normal healthy cells – setting up the condition which is often mistaken for arthritis.
This Process can be Reversed!
The second factor which brings about this over-acidification is diet related. Over the past 200 years, our use of sugar has exploded. Sugar is one of the most acidic foods and this boom in acidity has caused major depletion of our body’s alkaline reserves so that there is now an epidemic of obesity, diabetes, cancer and over-acidification of the joints.
It’s very difficult to remove sugar from our diets nowadays since it’s added to just about everything in huge quantities. However, in order to overcome chronic inflammation, it is vital that you reduce your sugar intake.
The third factor which is unseen, but equally damaging, is to do with our food. Food today is produced in soils which are sadly depleted in the essential minerals required to:-
- Maintain good health
- To recharge our depleted stores of alkaline.
Because we now use vast amounts of nitrates to force crops on the land, over time these crops have taken up all of the available micronutrients and as these crops have been removed, then so have the micronutrients. The essential elements which once gave us a very balanced nutritious diet are no longer there!
The Role of Micronutrients
The micronutrients or essential elements in the soil, which in the past used to keep us in a healthy balance between acid and alkaline, are nowadays almost completely missing from our diet. These alkaline micronutrients kept the balance between acid and alkaline in our blood, thereby allowing sufficient oxygen to reach and energise even the most distant and remote cells in our body and also those under the most stress (i.e. around the joints). In their absence we have no resource and over the years our systems become sadly depleted in alkaline essential micronutrients. This leads to a long-term general decline in our health when many people (even young ones) are now suffering pain for prolonged periods before an early death.
This situation can be reversed! The way this is done is to use a supplement like Arthromend™ which redresses the natural balance in your body. This is not a quick fix. It takes on average 3 months before the pain and stiffness finally goes away, but it’s a very thorough and steady method of achieving good health.
Of the people who have used Arthromend™ over the prescribed period (i.e. 3 months) 90% of these people report that they have got a lot better and can now exercise freely, sleep in comfort and lead normal full lives. To receive a 10% discount on your first order of Arthromend™ 250 Capsules (3 months supply in the first instance), simply enter discount code ARTHRO10 at checkout.
